HENRY DICKS WHITFIELD 1891 - 1970

support

Harry (aka Henry) Dicks Whitfield from Leicester, was a builder. Refused recognition as a CO, he was imprisoned at Wormwood Scrubs, but then allowed to join the Home Office Scheme. A lifelong peace-loving vegetarian, he ran a vegetarian hotel from the 1920s to the 1940s, and later worked in property development, renovating old houses for re-use.
